Pastor David Rhodes
The church is pastored by David Rhodes who
Has been involved in church ministry, including
preaching, from the age of 16. From 1982 to
1985, after sixteen years as a telephone
engineer with BT, he attended Elim Bible
College in Capel, Surrey, where he gained a
Diploma in Theology. He has since gained a
degree with the Open University.
David married Ann in 1972 and they have a daughter and a son who are both married and involved in church ministry in other places.
After leaving Bible College David first worked as an assistant pastor in Neath, South Wales. He then started a new fellowship in Port Talbot. His wife Ann, a school teacher of many years experience, has worked closely with him in the ministry.
After David and Ann visited the Garw Valley one day, it was clear God was calling them to move from Port Talbot, both to plant a church in the Garw Valley and encourage the few existing churches that were still open.
David spent three weeks preaching and teaching in Cebu, in the Philippines alongside David Prosser in January and February of 2005. In September 2005, David went alone for two weeks on a mission to the island of Bohol. He went on another trip to the Philippines in April 2008 ministering this time on four different islands. The last trip was to Cebu and Leyte in April 2009. David and Ann were in Uganda with Godfrey Mawa in April/May 2010.
