Mission to Cebu
Pastor David Rhodes was invited by David Prosser from Portsmouth, England to go on a very exciting, powerful and challenging mission trip to Cebu in the Philippines. They were in Cebu from 20th January to 8th February 2005. Romulos Nacua, otherwise known as Molong, arranged the entire itinerary for them.
They worked together, ministering in two leadership seminars, a ladies prison, a taxi cab company with up to forty drivers, the office of a security company, a couple of live Radio Broadcasts, and open air crusade meetings in slum dwelling areas, as well as in numerous churches. Between them they held around sixty meetings in twenty days.
In the women's prison, around 150 of the 200 inmates had been born again. A Christian band called Pilgrims provided the music and when the Word of God was preached the Holy Spirit fell upon the girls. Some were baptised in the Holy Spirit and others were set free of various bondages. Even the guards joined in!
David Rhodes and David Prosser shared ministry at the two Leadership Seminars, one in Mandaue City, and the second one in the North of the Island in a developing resort and fish farm. They both shared in the ministry, which opened the doors of opportunity to speak in the various churches represented.
Wherever they preached; in the slums, the taxi firm, Churches or in the prison, people responded for salvation and many were healed of all sorts of illnesses to the Glory of God.
It was David Prosser’s sixth time in the Philippines but he said it was without a doubt, his most anointed visit. The door was clearly open and David and Sue Prosser committed themselves to go to Cebu for seven weeks from the 25th June until the 12th August 2005.
David Rhodes, after hearing that Pastors from Bohol wanted the same kind of ministry, knew God was calling him to return. He returned to the Philippines in September 2005 to minister for 2 weeks in Bohol.
